am a fourth year student in the Bachelor of Arts and Science program at
McGill, majoring in Cognitive Science, and minoring in Anthropology.
Since high school, the way humans learn language has intrigued me. I
love having this opportunity to learn about infant development through
experience in the lab and not just in class. After graduation I plan on
going to graduate school to become a speech language pathologist. In my
free time I enjoy reading, singing, word games and being a couch potato. |

I'm
majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology, in my final year, and
I am leaning towards an interest in clinical psychology and motivation,
although I'm not 100% sure about this yet. I enjoy volunteering at the
MIDC and have worked with a lot of cool people here and I hope to
continue while I play out my McGill undergrad life. |

am currently taking courses in linguistics and psychology at McGill. I
am excited to learn more about language acquisition in children and
gain hands on experience in a research setting. Eventually I plan on
going to graduate school to become a speech language

in my last year of a Bachelor of Music Performance with a Major
Concentration in Psychology. I hope to continue my studies in
either speech pathology or music therapy. Working
at MIDC has given me the chance to gain research experience and work
with kids! It is a great environment to learn outside of the
classroom at McGill. When I’m not studying or
playing the violin I like to go to concerts, shop and hang out with
friends. |

Child Psychologist! I have been a Mcgill Cheerleader for the past two
years and in my spare time, I love to read, hit the gym, play with my
chinchilla and save the world (in no particular order). |

am a U3 Psychology
student with a minor in Science for Arts Students. In the future, I
would like to pursue research in either social, cognitive or health
psychology. So I guess you could say I’m interested in
narrowing down my interests! The MIDC is an opportunity to be part of a
great research team. I have much to learn from those around me. When I
am not in an academic setting, I enjoy playing sports, especially
ultimate frisbee, and just spending time with good friends. |

I’m
Nella and I’ve just started my 3rd year at McGill. My major
is in Psychology and my minor in History. I have worked with kids
before, and when one does there are a lot of questions that come to
mind. I’ve gotten curious as to what triggers various skill
and emotion acquisition in children of different ages, and
that’s why I’m in this lab. Other than child
development, I’m also interested in experimental, cultural
and social psychology. Outside of the academic environment,
I’m more of an artsy person. When I have some free time, I
like to play or listen to music and write or read fiction. |

Andreea and this is my last year at McGill, majoring in Psychology and
Political Sciences. Working at the lab has been an eye
opening experience for me. Besides, seeing all the cute
babies come in, I am learning a lot about developmental psychology
first hand, working closely with a wonderful team, and [hopefully]
improving my french. After graduation, I plan on getting a graduate

I'm Ana and this
is my second year at McGill, majoring in Psychology and minoring in
Life Science. Thus far, I am enjoying my experience at MIDC very much.
Every day there is a new challenge, whether it is improving my French
or learning about a new study. I really enjoy working with the team and
learning more about developmental psychology. In the future,
I am interested in pursuing either clinical psychology or cognitive
neuroscience, but I still have a few years to figure things out.

I am a
U2 student at McGill, midway through the completion of my BSc, majoring
in psychology. This is my first semester working at MIDC and
I absolutely love it! I am passionate about learning and
gaining experience in the field, as I believe it will be an excellent
stepping stone to my future pursuit of a career in Speech
Pathology. MIDC allows me to put many of the theories and
concepts that I’ve read in textbooks into practice.
Best of all, I get to interact with babies! When

! I’m Camille and I’m in the process of completing
my second year of university, but my very first at McGill! I
am a BASc student enrolled in the interfaculty Cognitive Science
program with a minor in Social Studies of Medicine.
My ongoing experience at MIDC has proved itself a wonderful complement
to the knowledge imparted upon me by McGill professors; I’m
perpetually fascinated when I’m able to witness for myself
the phenomena about which I could only otherwise read. I
adore volunteering and currently also spend a few hours a week at the
Montreal Neurological Hospital. An avid explorer, I love to
travel, meet new people with whom I can exchange experiences, and taste
unfamiliar foods. |

I
completed my BASc at McGill last year, doing an interfaculty program in
Cognitive Science and a minor in Chemistry. I’m looking
forward to spending this year coordinating the MIDC and getting a
chance to learn more about research in developmental psychology in the
process. Eventually, I hope to continue my studies in either Cognitive

My
first year at
McGill, majoring in Psychology, has proved to be far from easy;
however, it has strengthened my love for this field. More specifically,
I find very interesting the ways in which we have come to study how we
think about thinking, what drives us to interact with others as social
agents; more amazingly, how we can manage to put ourselves in an
another person's shoes (feel what they are thinking and emphasize with
what they are feeling). These, among many others, are the intricacies
involving the best human invention of all: our brain; an aspect of our
anatomy I find extremely compelling. I am really looking forward to a
great and challenging summer at MIDC, working with an awesome team and
learning about new research regarding babies' cognitive development
(babies are the best part of it all!). In the future, I plan to pursue
a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology (hopefully open up my own
practice one day) . Whenever I am not full-on studying for exams or
working I enjoy reading a good book, shopping, but most of all I love
music; especially dancing to it (you could say I dance to the beat of
my own drums!: ).
