Finding McGill University Campus

By Car/Taxi

If arriving from the north, east or west of the island, along the TransCanada (Highway 40 or Highway 20), follow the signs indicating Centre Ville (Downtown). These will lead you onto the Ville Marie Autoroute. Take the Guy exit; putting you directly onto St-Marc Street, which runs north to Sherbrooke Street. Turn right at the intersection of St-Marc and Sherbrooke Streets. Drive along Sherbrooke for a few lights and turn left on Drummond Street. Docteur Penfield Avenue is the next block up.

Parking:

If traveling by car, please use the Drummond parking lot and hang the enclosed parking permit on your rearview mirror with the correct month, date and year scratched off.

We have arranged for complimentary parking at the Drummond parking lot. The lot faces Docteur Penfield Avenue and is located in front of Hosmer House (3630 Drummond Street), just left of the Stewart Biology building. As shown on the map, you can enter this lot either via Drummond Street (enter via the second driveway on your left) or via de la Montagne (Mountain) street (enter via the second driveway on your right). Note that the stretch of Drummond running North of Docteur Penfield is called Promenade Sir William Osler.

By Metro/Bus

Arriving by Metro:

We are situated two blocks from the Peel metro station. From the Peel station, take the Stanley exit and walk north to Docteur Penfield Avenue. The walk is uphill and takes approximately 10 minutes.

Arriving by Bus:

If arriving by bus, bus #144 (avenue des Pins/Pine Avenue) stops on Docteur Penfield Avenue at the corner of Peel Street, just east of the Stewart Biology Building. The #144 bus leaves from the Atwater metro station.

McGill Language Acquisition Lab

The McGill Language Acquisition lab is situated in the South Block of the Stewart Biological Sciences Building, which is located at 1205 Docteur Penfield Avenue.

Finding the South Block of Stewart Biology Building:

The Stewart Biology building is made up of two buildings, a South block and a North block. The South block, where our centre is located, is the smaller building with a greenhouse at the top. In between the South and North blocks is a courtyard. If you enter the South block from the main doors on Docteur Penfield Avenue, you will go up three flights to the 3rd floor. If you enter the South block from the back, via the courtyard, you will go up two flights to the 3rd floor (the building is on an incline). Once on the 3rd floor, turn left and then left again. We are near the end of a short hallway in room S3/6A. There will be signs (labeled “Infant Speech Study”) posted to direct you from the entrances of the South block to our centre. If you find yourself lost, please do not hesitate to contact us at 398-3144 or to ask a student for help.

Note that because the South block does not have elevators, parents may wish to leave the baby stroller in the car. If you would rather travel with a baby stroller, or are not traveling by car, please let us know in advance and we will meet you in the lobby and help you up the stairs.

From Drummond Parking Lot

To get to the Stewart Biology building from the Drummond lot, cross Drummond Street via the small walkway at the corner of Drummond and Docteur Penfield Avenue. You can enter the South block of the Stewart Biology building either from the front entrance facing Docteur Penfield or from the back entrance via the courtyard.
