GASP! Handbook 2004-2005

All graduate students in Psychology at McGill University are members of the Graduate Association of Students in Psychology, better known as GASP!.  GASP's steering committee serves as a link between the graduate students and faculty of the Psychology Department.

The GASP! steering committee and its members co-ordinate many departmental events, including:

• The now famous "GTS", (GASP! "Therapy Session"), where grad students and faculty come take a break to enjoy "placebos" and "anti-depressants" on the 8th floor lobby EVERY THURSDAY FROM 4 TO 7:30.
• Annual Hebb Graduate Showcase - featuring paper presentations and a poster session showcasing graduate student research in the department
• Welcoming new graduate students to the department
• TA Orientation Workshop for new teaching assistants in the Department of Psychology
• Organizing graduate student volunteers to serve on various departmental and university-wide committees
• Summer softball team
• Various events throughout the year

It's tradition in the department to organise a student vs. faculty softball match at the beginning of the school year to get to know each other before diving into the abyss of our courses, research, and analyses.
