Our laboratory studies the science of musical sound, using a broad spectrum of approaches from low-levels (genes, neuroanatomy) to higher level processes such as the acquisition of musical expertise and the perception of musical emotion. We employ a variety of tools, including functional neuroimaging, studies of specific populations with neurogenetic impairments, psychophysics, and traditional behavioural psychology experiments. We are also engaged in the development of new quantitative methods for studying these phenomena. Please click here to learn more about specific research projects. |
