Any student who is neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident is considered an international student. Around 15 percent of our current graduate students are international students. Every year, the graduate program of the Department of Psychology welcomes applicants from all over the world.
Immigration Process
All international students are responsible for ensuring that all the required immigration documents are processed before entering Canada. For details, click on the Immigration Process link.
Fellowships
International students are not eligible for Canadian Fellowships (e.g. NSERC, CIHR). However, there are several other sources of funding available. It is highly recommended that international students apply to all fellowships available through their country of origin or through agreements between the Canadian or Quebec Governments and their country of origin. The Canadian Government also offers some fellowships to international students, as well as the Quebec Government.
Funding may also be available through the Department of Psychology or through the student’s potential supervisor.
