Sleep Mechanisms and Behaviour (3
credits)
(Prerequisites: One of PSYC 211, NSCI 201, PHGY 209 AND one of PSYC
311, PSYC 317, PSYC 318, PSYC 342 or permission of the instructor.)
This course covers basic biological mechanisms, possible functions,
and behavioural aspects of sleep. Additional topics include:
disorders of sleep, their effects on behaviour and cognition, and
treatment approaches; as well as medical, neurological, and
psychiatric disorders, and drugs, that affect sleep.
